About the Role
This role is for a hands-on Field Project Manager who leads projects directly in the field, ensuring successful execution from start to finish. The position requires approximately 80% of time spent on job sites and 20% coordinating internally, focusing on execution, coordination, and leadership rather than desk-based drawing production.
Responsibilities
- Oversee mechanical kitchen exhaust and fire suppression projects from kickoff through completion.
- Manage active construction environments and coordinate multiple trades.
- Represent Done Right Hood & Fire Safety directly with clients, contractors, and inspectors.
- Review and interpret architectural, mechanical, and construction drawings and specifications.
- Prepare accurate project estimates and quotations.
- Solicit and coordinate pricing from vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Analyze project requirements and develop competitive bid proposals.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with general contractors and project stakeholders.
- Follow up on bids and proposals to maximize project awards and close sales opportunities.
- Schedule and coordinate equipment purchases, fabrication, and material procurement.
- Manage equipment deliveries and ensure materials arrive on schedule.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, including installation timelines and job durations.
- Coordinate labor, subcontractors, and field crews to meet project milestones.
- Monitor project costs, change orders, and profitability.
- Communicate regularly with contractors, vendors, and customers regarding project status.
- Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
Requirements
- Experience in kitchen exhaust systems, HVAC, sheet metal, mechanical contracting, or commercial construction preferred.
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
- Experience with estimating, project management, procurement, and scheduling.
- Proven ability to negotiate contracts and close awarded projects.
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and estimating/project management software.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and results-driven.
