About the Role
Cypress Hills Local Development Corporation has openings for part-time Assistant Afterschool Directors in the Youth and Family Services Elementary and Middle School Afterschool programs. This position is hourly for 25-29 hours per week, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm.
Responsibilities
- Collaborates with the program director to support the supervision of holistic, engaging, and quality afterschool and summer camp programming, incorporating Literacy, Arts, STEM, Fitness, and Community Service/Leadership Development.
- Assists the program director with the supervision of all program staff.
- Contributes to the creation and maintenance of a cohesive and effective staff team.
- Assesses and addresses the individual and collective needs of students & parents, solicits and responds to their input into the program, and works with the program director to conduct a monthly parent meeting and/or Family Night.
- Collects and maintains all required documents and manages multiple databases.
- Adheres to policies and procedures in a proactive manner, prioritizing the safety of participants.
- Assists with the monitoring of health and safety standards and regulations.
- Works with the program director to create an environment of high expectations for staff participation and effort through weekly staff meetings.
- Builds positive relationships with school administration, teachers, and support service personnel.
- Collaborates with the Youth and Family Services management team and directors.
- Supports the program in meeting all contractual obligations, including the management of the SACC license and contract budgets.
- Develops positive and effective working relationships with funder representatives.
- Represents the agency professionally to all stakeholders.
- Performs other assignments as requested.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in education, social work, youth development, or related field preferred.
- Two to three years’ experience working with Elementary/Middle school students and adolescents in a youth development setting.
- Experience in supervising a team of staff preferred.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish/Bengali) a plus.

Salary/Compensations
- $25.00 - $35.00 Hourly
