About the Role

The primary responsibility of the Interior Maintenance Horticulture Technician is to perform landscape maintenance tasks with care and efficiency to ensure the highest level of services are provided.

Responsibilities

  • Exceed client expectations by providing professional, courteous and efficient service.
  • Manage assigned client accounts and daily route effectively.
  • Groom and trim plants.
  • Probe soil for appropriate moisture levels.
  • Clean plants with a duster, hand washing and/or spraying as needed.
  • Keep track of tools on job site.
  • Write up special services as needed for scheduling (e.g., large tree trimming, pesticide application, after-hour cleaning requests, large plant material transplanting and replacements).
  • Maintain a clean vehicle at all times, ensuring interior and exterior cleanliness.
  • Remove personal items from vehicles daily.
  • Adhere to Company maintenance inspection policy.
  • Report any and all accidents immediately.
  • Identify plant replacements, create replacement tickets and install small replacement plants and flowers as needed.
  • Ensure work sites are restored to original condition or better upon departure.
  • Cultivate and maintain positive client relationships.
  • Maintain a positive, solution-oriented approach to service.
  • Project a good company image.
  • Ensure a professional appearance, good hygiene and a clean uniform.
  • Use proper horticultural references.
  • Understand and uphold Interior Service Department Quality Standards.
  • Continue own education by staying informed of industry trends, learning new skills and asking questions.
  • Use time management and organizational skills to prioritize and plan work.
  • Report problems and/or concerns with equipment and tools immediately.
  • Advise manager/s in a timely manner if additional assistance is needed.
  • Drive safely and respect legal speed limits.
  • Ensure working hours, including overtime, have been recorded accurately and truthfully.
  • Participate in company LEAN activities and maintain assigned areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be able to drive in downtown urban areas.
  • Minimum of one (1) year horticultural education or equivalent experience.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to hand-carry buckets of water weighing 20-25 pounds frequently and on a daily basis.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
