About the Role
The Pricing Analyst supports the firm’s strategic initiatives by analyzing historical data and performance to advise on profitable arrangements and rate structures. This role collaborates with Pricing Leadership, Sr. Analysts, Business Development, Marketing, Legal Project Management, Billing Operations, and Staff Leadership to resolve complex data and reports, develop insights, and advise on future options.
Responsibilities
- Develop rate proposals, fee estimates, and pricing options in response to client RFPs and ad-hoc requests, in collaboration with Business Development/Pitch team, Pricing team, and Service Delivery leadership.
- Identify rate renewal opportunities, develop proposals, obtain Practice Group approval, and communicate/submit per deadlines, working with Billing/Rates, Pricing team, and firm attorneys.
- Contribute to financial models for assessing profitability of pricing proposals and assist in developing creative pricing solutions, including alternative fee arrangements, in coordination with Pricing leadership and Sr. Pricing Analysts.
- Perform historical analytics of matters to identify key risks and drivers of fee magnitude for robust pricing model development, in coordination with Pricing leadership and Sr. Pricing Analysts.
- Ensure billing system setup and documentation of clients/matters accurately capture intended pricing arrangements, rates, and client notes, working with Billing/Rates, New Business Intake, and other firm staff.
- Compile and communicate relevant progress, wins, and risks to Pricing/Firm Leadership in a timely manner.
- Work on special projects supporting the Firm’s strategic initiatives.
- Perform other duties and ad-hoc analyses as assigned or required to meet Firm goals and objectives.
Requirements

- Advanced MS Word & Excel experience, including VLOOKUP and PivotTable functions.
- Previous experience in a law firm or other professional services firm is desirable.
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and external audiences.
- Produce high-quality work and respond to correspondence efficiently, timely, and professionally.
- Meet deadlines, manage competing priorities, and commit to meeting high standards.
- Comply with firm policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidences as required in a law firm environment.
- Sedentary work, requiring occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects.
- Sitting for extended periods, with occasional walking and standing.
- Occasional travel, both domestic and international.
