About the Role

Austin Regional Clinic is a growing professional medical group with over 35 locations in Central Texas, recognized as a top employer for over 15 years. We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our team and contribute to providing quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Accurately report and document patient status, care rendered, response to care, provider orders, and contacts with patients and healthcare providers.
• Refill medications following clinic protocols.
• Room patients, take and document vital signs, and prepare patients for provider examinations.
• Follow clinic protocols and directions from nursing leadership.
• Perform diagnostic testing including EKGs, audiograms, tympanograms, spirometry, and visual screenings.
• Monitor and stock medical and office supplies, ensuring items are current and not expired, and order supplies as needed.
• Review provider refill requests and assist with daily medication refill requests.
• Review EPIC triage call in basket for any callbacks.
• Clean patient rooms and manage laundry.
• Stock laundry carts with fresh linens daily.
• Assist providers with procedures such as sigmoidoscopy exams and cardiac stress testing, including setup, patient preparation, and equipment cleaning.
• Maintain and sterilize equipment.
• Adhere to all company policies, including OSHA, HIPAA, compliance, and Code of Conduct.
• Maintain regular and dependable attendance.
• Follow company core competencies.
• Work required holiday shifts.
• Administer medications and injections (LVN).
• Provide direct nursing care and distribute medications and treatments under physician order (LVN).
• Teach and counsel patients and families on health assessment, care, disease prevention, and health maintenance (LVN).
• Manage vaccine programs, including ordering, monitoring usage/wastage, and completing required documentation (LVN).
• Facilitate the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the immunization program (LVN).
• Call patients to inform them of lab results (LVN).
• Perform patient follow-up activities including laboratory results, diagnostics, appointments, referrals, medications, and call backs (LVN).
• Participate in the orientation of new employees (LVN).
• Provide patients with educational materials as directed (Staff Medical Assistant).
• Administer medication under physician’s direction and within the scope of practice (Staff Medical Assistant).
• Inform patients of normal lab results (Staff Medical Assistant).
• Review provider instructions regarding abnormal results (Staff Medical Assistant).

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current licensure as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the State of Texas (for LVN role).
• Current AHA approved Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) course completion card (for LVN role).
• Maintain a current vocational nursing license and CPR certification during employment (for LVN role).
• Meet one of the following for Staff Medical Assistant: Medical Assistant experience, CNA/EMT/PCT experience providing direct patient care (beyond ADLs, including manual vitals and giving medications/injections), or graduation from a Medical Assistant program.
• Medical Assistant certification preferred (for Staff Medical Assistant).
• Current AHA approved Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) course completion card or within 60 days of hire (for Staff Medical Assistant).
• Ability to administer medications & injections within scope of position within 90 days of hire (for Staff Medical Assistant).
• Knowledge of medical terminology (for Staff Medical Assistant).

Work Type

• PRN (As Needed)

Experience Level

• Previous experience in an ambulatory or acute care setting preferred (LVN).
• Six (6) months or more experience as a Medical Assistant preferred (Staff Medical Assistant).

Education Level

• Graduation from an accredited school of vocational nursing (LVN).
• Graduate of a medical assistant program (Staff Medical Assistant).
