About the Role

The Business Banker II performs intermediate duties supporting branch operations and financial services, including teller transactions, new account processing, and assisting customers with account selection and cross-selling the bank's products and services. This role requires proficiency in new account opening, teller operations, and safe deposit box management.

Responsibilities

  • Provides support to all assigned areas of branch operations, including platform, teller line, and safe deposit.
  • Delivers service to internal/external customers to resolve account service issues.
  • Maintains a cash drawer to process client transactions.
  • Executes financial transactions in accordance with bank policies and procedures.
  • Handles large sums of cash accurately and efficiently, maintaining cash limits and performing all phases of teller work.
  • Achieves and maintains customer satisfaction through excellence in service delivery, follow-up, and problem resolution.
  • Assists consumer and business customers in selecting accounts, products, and financial services, applying professional sales techniques to identify cross-sell opportunities.
  • Interviews customers to obtain information, establishes proper identification, and determines the need for reference investigation.
  • Prepares for audits.
  • Alternates opening and closing the branch with management.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of the complete line of products and services, taking responsibility for staying updated and requesting further development.
  • Performs all other duties assigned by management.
  • Adheres to operational controls, including legal, corporate, and regulatory procedures, to ensure the safety and security of customer and bank assets.
  • Appropriately assesses risk when making business decisions, considering the firm’s reputation and safeguarding assets by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Adheres to policy and procedures, applies sound ethical judgment, and escalates, manages, and reports control issues with transparency.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2 Years Banking Experience required.
  • 1 Year Sales Experience required.
  • Flexibility to work additional hours including nights, weekends and holidays, as required.
  • Frequently required to sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • Frequently required to talk and hear.
  • Normal range of vision and hearing abilities required.
  • Mobility required greeting and assisting employees and visitors.
  • Frequently required to skillfully operate a computer, telephone and other standard office equipment.
  • Travel between all locations of the bank.
  • Occasionally travel outside of work location to attend meetings and training programs.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

Skills

  • Knowledge of banking industry regulations, internal processes, controls, procedures, and workflow, specifically in loan operations and commercial closings.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a team environment and work independently.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven track record of multi-tasking with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Detail-oriented and organized with excellent follow-up, written and verbal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply required regulatory and policy requirements when making decisions.
  • Knowledge of bank policies and procedures for the teller line & customer service.
  • Good judgment skills.
  • Ability to handle change, stress, and the pressures of daily activity while multi-tasking and working at a fast pace.
