About the Role
The New York County District Attorney’s Office (DANY) is seeking a highly organized, dependable, and detail-oriented Office Machine Operator to join the Reproduction Services Unit. This role is responsible for providing high-volume printing, copying, scanning, and document production services to support the Office’s legal and administrative operations.
Responsibilities
- Operate high-volume digital printers, copiers, scanners, and finishing equipment.
- Receive, prioritize, and process print, copy, and scanning requests for case and non-case related work.
- Produce legal documents, trial exhibits, case files, reports, training materials, presentations, and other agency documents.
- Perform document finishing services, including binding, collating, stapling, laminating, and booklet production.
- Conduct quality control reviews to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and professional presentation of all projects.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of paper, toner, and other reproduction supplies.
- Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and coordinate service requests and repairs as necessary.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all records, documents, and materials processed by the Unit.
- Provide professional, responsive customer service to all Office personnel.
- Assist with special projects and perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to understand and carry out simple instructions.
- Ability to understand and be understood in English.
- High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to duties described above.
- Education and/or experience which is equivalent to the above requirement.
Skills
- Operating high-volume production printers, copiers, scanners, and finishing equipment.
- Reprographic experience producing legal documents, trial exhibits, case files, reports, training materials, presentations, and other agency documents.
- Reprographic experience performing document finishing services, including binding, collating, stapling, laminating, and booklet production.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritize competing demands, and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive legal documents and information.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move paper, boxes, and supplies weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks associated with document production and equipment operation.
- Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive materials.
- Effectively manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
