About the Role
AWP Safety is America’s Leading Traffic Management Company. As a Protector, you will work with a team at job sites, with no experience or degree needed. Safety is paramount, and we provide comprehensive training and support to help you build a career.
Responsibilities
- Set up cones, signs, and barricades and take down traffic control equipment.
- Use a stop/slow paddle to guide traffic, monitoring traffic and job site activity.
- Follow all safety rules taught in training.
- Communicate with your crew and supervisor.
- Help keep vehicles and equipment clean and safe.
- Work outside all year, in all weather conditions.
- Be available for shifts that may change based on job needs, including potential nights, weekends, or emergency work.
- Stand or walk for 8 to 12 hours per shift.
- Wear provided safety gear including a hard hat, safety goggles, safety vest, safety whistle, walkie talkie, and cold/hot weather gear.
- Provide your own steel toe safety boots that go above the ankle.
Requirements
- Possess a valid driver's license.
- Be able to stand, walk, and work outside for extended periods.
- Be able to lift 40–50 pounds.
- Be willing to work in traffic and varying weather conditions.
- Maintain a flexible schedule and arrive on time for every shift.
- Pass a pre-hire screening, including a drug test, as this is a safety-sensitive position.
- Remain alert around moving traffic and consistently follow all safety rules.
- Treat coworkers, clients, and the public with respect.
