About the Role

Act as a micro-assembler to build small MIC and SMT based hardware for NPI (New Product Introduction) and production purposes.

Responsibilities

  • Performs die attach using electrically conductive epoxies.
  • Dispenses epoxy using both manual techniques and a dispensing machine.
  • Performs wire bonding tasks using a variety of wire and ribbon sizes and both ball and wedge-based techniques.
  • Performs welding operations using a gap welder.
  • Performs tacking operations using a thermosonic bonder.
  • Performs soldering tasks with small components.
  • Performs delicate rework tasks while minimizing collateral damage.
  • Self-inspects his/her own work.
  • Assists with troubleshooting units for inspection.
  • Reads and works from assembly drawings and provide markups with improvements/design changes when necessary.
  • Provides feedback on the manufacturability of the design during the E-Run phase to make the design production ready.
  • Keeps work area neat and clean and assists other staff with keeping lab clean.
  • Perform all relevant transactions in the ERP system (Move In, Move Out, Clock On, Clock Off, etc.).

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to read, write and orally communicate in English.
  • Ability to read and interpret an assembly drawing.
  • Ability to utilize electronic work instructions and assembly drawings.
  • Ability to sit at a bench for an extended period of time.
  • Ability to work under a microscope.
  • Ability to learn ERP interface to order parts and perform run related transactions.
  • Must be willing to work in a multi-disciplinary team (Engineers, Technicians, Assemblers, Designers, Manufacturing and Process Engineers).
  • Must be willing to grow and improve micro-assembly skills and work closely with other assemblers.
  • Comply, understand, and support corporate safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Ability and willingness to abide by Company’s Code of Conduct.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive for extended periods of time.
  • Occasional travel, some overnight, as required.

Skills

  • Micro-assembly experience in SMT
  • Small mechanical assembly experience
  • Micro-assembly experience in MIC
  • Die attach experience
  • Wire bonding experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Experience Level

  • Minimum 5 years of micro-assembly experience in SMT, small mechanical assembly
  • Minimum 2 years of micro-assembly experience in MIC, die attach, wire bonding

Education Level

  • High School Diploma or GED

Salary/Compensations

  • $25-31/hr.
