About the Role

CDI is seeking a knowledgeable and competent Casual SNAP Boys Youth Clubs Facilitator to join the SNAP Boys Youth Clubs from October 1, 2026 to June 18, 2027. The facilitator is responsible for leading one of the two weekly SNAP Boys Youth Clubs, which serve a diverse group, many of whom are racialized youth. The role utilizes the SNAP Framework to address challenges youth experience at home, school, or in the community, focusing on providing a positive, therapeutic environment.

Responsibilities

Assists in developing and implementing weekly Youth Leadership Clubs for SNAP Boys Youth Leadership Services participants 11-18 years of age.
Supports youth to develop confidence, leadership and social skills.
Leads one of the two weekly SNAP Boys Youth Clubs from 4:00pm to 7:30pm.
Communicates with families and contacts youth’s parents/caregivers weekly to provide progress updates.
Facilitates assignment, coaches and supports youth in leadership roles at CDI.
Enhances healthy personal development and employment/volunteer skills of youth in leadership positions.
Accompanies youth on field trips and outings in the community.
Works collaboratively with staff, volunteers, parents, and participants to ensure youth have a safe and fun educational experience.
Supervises and facilitates activities in a manner that ensures safety and inclusion of all participants.
Problem solves issues pertaining to positive growth and development.
Completes documentation in a timely manner.
Maintains positive professional relationships with youth, campers, parents, staff, community members and other Child Development Institute patrons and visitors.
Adheres to the Child Development Institute’s Policies and Procedures.
Maintains a safe and healthy working environment.
Performs other assigned duties.

Requirements

A University or College Diploma, preferably in Child and Youth Work, or equivalent.
2+ years of progressive experience in child and youth work.
Proficient with MS Office Suite.
Possess strong verbal and written communication and influencing skills.
Demonstrated ability to multitask, probe, analyze and problem solve issues.
Be a dedicated and flexible team player able to interact with team members and colleagues at all levels of the organization.
Offers of employment are contingent upon the successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Check.
