About the Role

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) is responsible for the day-to-day management of all restaurant operations, serving as a key contact for customers and leading kitchen and service teams. This role requires independent decision-making, excellent communication, and a focus on maximizing sales, customer satisfaction, and profitability while ensuring high standards of sanitation, safety, and food quality.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, supervise, and direct all hourly employees, including daily activities, work assignments, and time off requests.
  • Conduct periodic performance evaluations, coaching, and corrective discipline for team members.
  • Oversee kitchen operations and promptly address any issues.
  • Direct employee work, including setting hours, weekly schedules, and assigning tasks.
  • Drive sales and guest satisfaction; manage food costs, inventory, utility usage, and Health Department ratings.
  • Ensure food quality through high standards of cleanliness, organization, and sanitation.
  • Ensure execution of the CHARM Service Model with every guest.
  • Provide and schedule training for Front of House and Back of House teams on policies, procedures, and specifications.
  • Supervise and oversee the production and preparation of food and beverages according to established recipes.
  • Resolve guest recovery situations using discretion.
  • Follow the Operations Playbook for consistent daily operations and address non-compliance.
  • Utilize the digital manager logbook for shift notes, product needs, equipment repairs, and staffing updates.
  • Enforce appropriate security measures to ensure employee and guest safety.
  • Manage and recommend cost controls for food, supplies, and liquor expenses, including conducting weekly inventory.
  • Understand, manage, and enforce safe food handling procedures.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, wage and hour regulations, and filing responsibilities.
  • Ensure equipment is in good repair and take steps to address necessary repairs or remove faulty equipment.
  • Manage processes including line checks, pull thaw, prep lists, food inventory, beverage cost, truck orders, and food safety.
  • Coach the team to ensure food and beverages are prepared to Ruby Tuesday recipe specifications.
  • Maintain a valid food safety certificate and any necessary local compliance certifications.
  • Execute new initiatives, including new product and menu rollouts, requiring creativity and initiative.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • High School Diploma or High School equivalency required.
  • ServSafe Certified preferred or able to obtain certification prior to completion of training.
  • Valid Driver's License.
