About the Role
Responsible for supporting the planning, integration, and execution of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) activities for assigned military and commercial programs. Assists in preparing and maintaining Logistics Technical and Management Plans and Supportability documentation. Applies foundational logistics engineering principles to help meet program goals and objectives.
Responsibilities
- Support development and maintenance of Logistics requirements, budgets, and schedules for assigned programs.
- Assist in developing and maintaining program Support and Services Plans.
- Evaluate basic PSA/CSA requirements for ILS, Maintainability, and Reliability compliance with guidance from senior engineers; coordinate findings with functional teams.
- Collect and maintain Supportability Metrics under direction from principal or senior logistics staff.
- Contribute to system design discussions by identifying logistics considerations that support Life Cycle Cost (LCC) and Total Ownership Cost (TOC) reductions.
- Support analysis and optimization tasks related to Support System performance.
- Assist in developing Logistics Support approaches for Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) and Performance-Based Logistics (PBL).
- Support development of product training materials, plans, and classroom/instructor materials as assigned.
- Assist in developing Product Support Analysis (PSA), Logistics Product Data (LPD), Level of Repair Analysis (LORA), and LCC trade‑off documentation.
- Contribute to technical manual development activities including planning, material preparation, and validation tasks.
- Review Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) for basic logistics impacts, escalating findings as needed.
- Support RFP/RFQ reviews to identify Maintainability and Logistics requirements; assist in preparing cost inputs and Logistics content.
- Assist with maintaining positive internal and external customer relations.
- Follow company ILS processes, policies, and ISO‑9001 quality management practices.
- Prepare logistics reports and analyses; support design and test reviews.
- Assist in Military Supply Support and Commercial provisioning (S, T, U, W, X, Z‑files) tasks using S1000D guidance.
- Support field activities including pre‑production ILS design support and Maintenance/Repair support at customer sites.
- Assist Supply Chain Management functions by tracking customer asset status and modification activity.
- Support identification of field support requirements, tools, support equipment, and calibration needs.
- Help develop maintenance concepts and plans.
- Support Maintainability program tasks including MTTR analysis, demonstrations, and design evaluations aligned with customer requirements and MIL‑STD guidelines.
- Utilize and help maintain Logistics databases based on MIL‑STD‑1388 and GEIA‑STD‑0007.
- Assist in development of Test Requirements Documents (TRD).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a technical or scientific field or equivalent.
- 5+ years experience in logistics engineering or related disciplines (reliability, maintainability, field engineering, safety, military technical experience).
- Ability to exercise good judgment while following established procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
- Ability to work cooperatively with teams, customers, and suppliers.
- Ability to use computer tools to prepare reports and documentation.
- Ability to make decisions consistent with policies, principles, and regulations.
- Ability to support development and implementation of processes within schedule and budget.
- Ability to apply logistics engineering principles and tools.
