About the Role

We are building civilization-scale infrastructure for AI by delivering 10 to 100s of GWs of compute faster than anyone else. We are looking for individuals who care deeply about this problem space and want to be part of a team that is singularly focused on this mission.

Responsibilities

Architect MVDC distribution for gigawatt-scale campuses, selecting voltage level, topology, and grounding scheme, and defending choices based on fault behavior, stability, and cost.
Own the system EMT model and execute fault and stability analysis to prove the viability of a fully converter-interfaced network with stated margins.
Establish the protection philosophy with the protection engineer and own the safety case for areas where standards are not yet established, ensuring rigor for AHJ review.
Lead the DC Systems team, define initial deliverables, and manage technical interfaces with SST and facility electrical teams.
Drive vendor strategy for SSCBs, converters, and DC-rated components, identifying and designing around ecosystem gaps.

Requirements

12+ years in power systems or power electronics with direct MVDC or HVDC system design experience (shipboard MVDC, HVDC converter stations, or grid-scale converter-dominated networks, designed end-to-end).
Proficiency in owning the system-level story, including architecture, grounding, fault behavior, and stability of converter-dominated networks, with the ability to articulate a DC fault sequence.
Fluency in EMT simulation (PSCAD/EMTDC) used for design proof, not just post-design checks.
Experience building defensible safety cases ahead of immature standards, specifically between IEEE 1709 and upcoming NEC 2026 MVDC provisions.
Experience leading small technical teams and defining their initial deliverables.
Ability to identify evidence that would lead to discontinuing a concept and communicate this proactively.
