About the Role

North Austin Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced, full-time Veterinary Receptionist who is passionate about pets and client service. This role is crucial in creating an exceptional client experience and supporting the hospital's mission of providing outstanding patient care and customer service. You will be an essential connection between clients and the medical team, ensuring smooth communication and efficient operations.

Responsibilities

Welcome clients and patients with warmth, professionalism, and compassion
Answer incoming phone calls and respond to client questions
Schedule and coordinate veterinary appointments
Check clients and patients in and out efficiently
Communicate important information between clients and the medical team
Maintain accurate client and patient information
Process payments and assist with client transactions
Help clients understand hospital services, recommendations, and next steps
Recognize potentially urgent concerns and communicate them appropriately to the medical team
Provide compassionate support during stressful or emotional situations
Help maintain an organized, welcoming, and efficient reception area
Balance multiple priorities while maintaining excellent client service
Collaborate with veterinarians, technicians, assistants, and fellow reception team members
Participate in cross-training and continued learning opportunities
Take ownership of responsibilities and help identify ways to improve the client and team experience
Jump in wherever needed to support clients, patients, and coworkers

Requirements

Previous veterinary reception or veterinary client-service experience
A genuine passion for pets and the people who love them
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong customer-service and interpersonal skills
Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities
Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Ability to prioritize effectively in a busy veterinary environment
Confidence handling multiple conversations, requests, and responsibilities
