About the Role

Schwab Technology Services enables the future of how clients manage their money by providing innovative and reliable technology products and services. This role is crucial in modernizing ACAR by extending design to credit and risk checks, implementing business UI for publishing rules, and supporting/enhancing the current system. The selected candidate will lead development efforts, drive cloud modernization, and leverage AI-assisted development tools.

Responsibilities

Lead development efforts for moderately complex initiatives, providing technical direction and mentorship to junior engineers.
Drive cloud modernization, resiliency, and GCP-based initiatives aligned with 2026 AOP goals.
Design and develop highly scalable, resilient backend services using efficient algorithms.
Leverage AI‑assisted development tools to improve code quality, consistency, and developer productivity.
Incorporate AI and automation across the SDLC, including requirements analysis, code generation, test generation, and monitoring.
Collaborate in requirements analysis, solution design, and scoping discussions, applying data‑driven and AI‑informed approaches.
Drive platform modernization efforts, including cloud-native patterns, service resiliency, observability, CI/CD improvements, and responsible integration of AI capabilities.
Support and enhance the current system to meet technical and business goals.

Requirements

BS or MS in computer science or related technical field.
10+ years of experience successfully developing applications for Windows platforms using C# .Net.
5+ years working with Web API, REST Services, WCF or SOAP Services.
4+ years of experience in database principles, such as SQL, Oracle, Aerospike or Mongo DB.
2+ years leading projects with moderate complexity, including architecture decisions, technical direction, and mentoring team members.
1+ years of experience developing, integrating, or operationalizing AI/ML-powered applications, Generative AI solutions, or intelligent automation capabilities, plus current Schwab working experience.
Strong .NET & C# expertise on backend services with multithreading and memory management.
Very strong experience with object-oriented programming concepts, design patterns, development, implementation including algorithms and data structures.
Experience with trading Credit and Risk checks.
Experience with Options Pairing and requirement calculations for Complex Options Strategies.
Experience with balance calculations for Portfolio Margin, Futures and Brokerage accounts including open orders.
Experience developing AI-powered copilots, virtual assistants, agentic workflows, or intelligent decision-support systems.
Experience leveraging AI to improve software engineering productivity, test automation, incident management, release processes, or operational support.
Experience resolving code smells, vulnerabilities, and application security flaws.

Strong written and verbal communications, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to interact and communicate successfully with business partners and technology teams.
Experience supporting releases and applications in production.
