About the Role
George M. Carroll offers a Free CDL Training Program, allowing you to work as a School Bus Aide while training to become a licensed School Bus Driver. Your role is critical in providing safe, reliable transportation for students each day, with a focus on passengers who may have special needs.
Responsibilities
- Safely transport passengers according to established schedules and routes
- Help maintain a safe and positive environment for passengers
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, school personnel, and coworkers
- Complete required reports and documentation accurately
- Follow all company, state, and federal safety regulations
Requirements
- Complete employment application and new hire paperwork
- Pass all required background screenings
- Provide valid identification
- Provide three professional references
- Submit residential history as required
- Pass a company paid physical examination
- Pass a drug and alcohol screening
- Successfully complete required background investigations
- Climb and descend bus steps
- Move quickly from a seated position
- Operate emergency exits when necessary
- Safely perform passenger evacuation procedures, including moving up to 125 pounds during emergency drills
