About the Role

The Shift Operations Technician will monitor the system in a Central Control Room (CCR) via a Facilities Monitoring & Control system (FMCS) and be dispatched to the field to physically investigate as first responders. This role involves operating and checking various electrical equipment and performing basic preventative maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Customer facing electrical device operations and troubleshooting.
• Tour electrical rooms to identify abnormal conditions and perform routine 6S inspections.
• Perform minor preventative and corrective/breakdown maintenance, updating an equipment management system.
• Inspect electrical systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment and repair, ensuring compliance with NEC and job site specifications.
• Work from ladders, scaffolds, roofs, inside cleanrooms, high noise areas, and hot environments to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures.
• Troubleshoot relay controls, variable frequency drives (VFD), motor control centers, synchronous drives, and more.
• Escort vendors/contractors/non-electrical employees into electrical rooms.
• Respond to central control room (CCR) requests for site alarms or site/fab issues.
• Complete Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW) based training required for electrical work at the site.
• Participate in Safety and Quality activities to improve onsite performance.
• Actively contribute to site electrical safety improvements and enhance the team's NEC/NFPA70E knowledge.
• Participate in shift pass downs, including actions performed, abnormal conditions, and outstanding action items.
• Provide technical assistance and coaching to junior team members.
• Identify and escalate procedural, equipment, and personnel items requiring supervisor or management attention.
• Use Infra Equipment Management System (iEMS) to track repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Establish and write policies, procedures, and guidelines for plant operations and maintenance.

Requirements

• Minimum 7 years working with electrical systems, motor control circuits, or automation equipment.
• High school diploma/GED required.
• Technical school diploma, associate degree, or industrial maintenance background strongly preferred.
• Journeyman or Master Electrician license strongly preferred.
• Proven proficiency in NEC through maintenance or electrical projects.
• Ability to navigate a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to log repairs, manage parts inventory, and schedule preventive maintenance tasks.
• Practical experience with wiring, relay controls, and motor control centers.
• Demonstrated track record of diagnosing and resolving complex electrical/automation issues with minimal downtime (preferred, but not required).
