About the Role

The Senior Data Analyst will provide technical support for accurate and timely reporting for operations teams. The role involves collaborating with clinical teams to assess cost and utilization trends using authorizations and medical/pharmacy claims data. Qualified candidates need significant health plan experience, expertise in healthcare payer medical trend analysis, and a solid understanding of healthcare operations.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support for accurate and timely reporting for operations teams.
Work with clinical teams to assess cost and utilization trends through authorizations and medical and pharmacy claims.
Lead technical efforts regarding medical trend analysis.
Utilize data management systems to pull and analyze information to draw conclusions and recommendations.
Communicate analytical findings both verbally and in written form.
Question the validity and accuracy of data.
Handle multiple projects concurrently and prioritize appropriately.
Work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Requirements

Minimum formal education of a bachelor's degree; Master's degree preferred.
Consulting experience is a plus.
3-6 years of healthcare experience.
4-6 years of analytical experience.
3+ years leading technical efforts regarding medical trend analysis.
Advanced understanding of coding, specifically SQL (5+ years).
Advanced experience in Tableau (5+ years).
Business understanding of the healthcare industry within Managed Care.
Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong work ethic.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a team.
Strong analytical and logical skills paired with strong attention to detail.
