  • Read and interpret basic mechanical drawings, work orders, and bills of material (BOM).
  • Fit and assemble coil formers, insulation, and mounting hardware as called out on the drawing.
  • Perform basic dimensional checks and visual inspection of completed coils; flag deviations to supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation in accordance with UPT shop practices and ISO 9001 procedures.
  • Accurately record time, quantities, and work order status in the shop tracking system.
  • Follow all safety procedures related to torches, compressed gas, hand and power tools, and PPE use.

Requirements

  • Mechanical aptitude and experience working in a manufacturing, machining, HVAC, or metal‑fabrication environment
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and mechanical schematics.
  • Experience with hand and power tools (tube benders, torches, grinders, drill presses, measurement tools).
  • Mechanically inclined with good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Comfortable working with hand tools; willingness to learn tube bending, winding, and brazing techniques.
  • Warehouse experience including forklift operation certification is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, safety procedures, and quality control standards.
  • Ability to stand, lift, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or in a team environment
  • Prior experience in metal fabrication, electrical, HVAC/refrigeration, plumbing, or similar hands-on trade.
  • Exposure to soldering, brazing, or welding.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment.
