About the Role
Schumacher & Co. is seeking a highly organized and proactive HR Coordinator to support the day-to-day operations of the People & Organization team. This role will have hands-on involvement across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, payroll support, HRIS administration, benefits, compliance, employee records, and reporting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, resourceful, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with day-to-day HR processes from new hire onboarding through employee offboarding
- Coordinate new hire setup across HRIS, payroll, benefits, systems, and other employee programs
- Process employee changes, including promotions, transfers, compensation changes, address updates, and status changes
- Coordinate offboarding activities, including collecting exit information, processing system terminations, and ensuring all required documentation is completed
- Conduct exit interviews as needed and track feedback for HR reporting
- Serve as a point of contact for employees and managers on general HR questions and processes
- Partner with Payroll and Finance to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing
- Submit and maintain employee changes that impact payroll, including new hires, terminations, compensation changes, and deductions
- Support commission and incentive reporting by validating information and distributing reports
- Research and resolve payroll discrepancies in partnership with Payroll
- Maintain accurate employee compensation and payroll-related records
- Maintain accurate employee data and records within the HRIS
- Support HRIS workflows, employee changes, reporting, and system updates
- Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, workflows, and automation
- Maintain employee files and ensure documentation is complete and properly stored
- Support reporting and data requests related to headcount, turnover, employee lifecycle, and other HR metrics
- Support benefits administration and serve as a resource for employees navigating benefit programs
- Assist with new hire benefits enrollment and qualifying life event changes
- Coordinate with benefits providers and internal partners to resolve employee questions or issues
- Support employee communications related to HR programs, policies, and benefits
- Administer the company's business vehicle and mileage reimbursement program through MOTUS
- Process vehicle reimbursement approvals and employee updates
- Conduct motor vehicle record (MVR) checks and coordinate required driver safety training
- Add new employees to vehicle and fleet management systems and process terminations or changes as needed
