About the Role
Responsible for ensuring that all grounds, buildings, controls of the systems, and equipment are properly maintained in the timeliest and most cost-efficient manner.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day activities of a team of direct reports.
- Analyze maintenance work orders and assign personnel to complete them, following up as needed.
- Design and implement preventative maintenance systems.
- Support operational departments by maintaining equipment and resolving mechanical malfunctions to increase productivity.
- Support operational departments by maintaining system controls and resolving HMI issues to increase productivity.
- Direct and assist in the installation of new equipment.
- Plan and direct modification or repair of existing equipment.
- Plan and execute projects in conjunction with the Plant Manager.
- Stay abreast of new industry technologies through trade magazines, training, and technical manuals.
- Oversee controls engineering and project management when applicable.
- Hire, train, supervise, develop skills, and coach all maintenance employees.
- Develop, implement, and update policies and procedures for Maintenance Services.
- Prepare departmental goals and objectives annually, communicating results, quality measures, and areas for improvement.
- Oversee supply purchasing for maintenance departments, ensuring budget compliance and inventory control.
- Evaluate service agreements/contracts and submit recommendations to the Plant Manager.
- Perform other duties as defined by the Manager.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or a combination of two years of college or vocational training in electrical with additional training in HVAC, plumbing, and associated trades.
- 5+ years of Maintenance experience within the Food/Beverage/Dairy industry required.
- 5+ years as a maintenance mechanic, specific to electrical, buildings, and grounds preferred.
- At least 3+ years of supervisory or managerial experience required.
- Experience with PLCs and Ammonia Refrigeration preferred.
- Experience working with outside vendors and contractors.
