About the Role
CBS Austin is seeking an experienced weekend sports anchor and reporter to cover local sports, including the Texas Longhorns, Austin FC, and Circuit of the Americas. The ideal candidate will be authentic, innovative, and bring fresh ideas to sports coverage, producing informative and entertaining content across all platforms with a digital-first strategy and a passion for impactful storytelling.
Responsibilities
- Shoot and edit stories.
- Position great content on air and on digital platforms.
- Adjust schedule as needed based on the needs of the content center.
- Use social media to build a dedicated audience.
- Separate from the pack and find original approaches to storytelling.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of professional on-camera experience.
- Bachelor's degree in journalism or related subject preferred.
Skills
- Strong writing, photography, and nonlinear editing skills.
- Photography/Video editing in Premiere (for broadcast and digital).
- Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Live-U operation.
- High-level organizational skills.
