About the Role

The Floor Supervisor manages the team that cleans and services guest rooms and public areas to Firmdale's exceptional standards while attending to the finest details in guest rooms and throughout the hotel.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily cleaning activities of room attendants and house attendants on assigned floors and in public areas.
  • Communicate daily duties and room assignments to housekeeping team members, organizing worksheets and keys to maximize efficiency.
  • Inspect guest rooms, corridors, and service areas to ensure standards of cleanliness and appearance are met.
  • Assist with and complete cleaning of guest rooms or public areas when needed and assigned.
  • Be highly attentive to small details in keeping with Firmdale SOPs.
  • Train new housekeeping staff and provide ongoing training, guidance and support to all team members.
  • Monitor work performance, provide feedback or corrective action when necessary.
  • Handle guest requests, complaints, and concerns promptly and professionally, referring to the Duty Manager as necessary.
  • Ensure security of assigned keys and phone for themselves and staff.
  • Follow procedures for lost property promptly and log information into Go Concierge.
  • Ensure that all equipment is in good working order, and that it is used and maintained properly.
  • Ensure cleaning supplies and linens are stocked and properly used.
  • Report maintenance issues or safety hazards.
  • Ensure that any repairs to soft furnishings are dealt with promptly and followed up on.
  • Ensure that any stains on carpet and soft furnishings are dealt with promptly, and report problem stains immediately.
  • Maintain accurate records of room status, cleaning schedules, and staff attendance.
  • Ensure that staff have proper inventory of linen, cleaning supplies, and equipment.
  • Uphold hotel safety and sanitation policies at all times, maintaining a clean, hazard free work environment at all times.
  • Check and return to the Front Desk a consistent flow of serviced guest rooms.
  • Greet guests and colleagues courteously at all times and respond to requests as quickly as possible.
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings as needed.
  • Understand and follow fire, security, and emergency procedures.
  • Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and appearance at all times, setting an example for staff.
  • Have thorough knowledge of the hotel and the company.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duty to assist in the smooth running of the Hotel and adherence to Firmdale standards.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, review, enter, and retrieve information from a computer and hard copies.
  • Ability to bend, twist, push, and pull furniture.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to work with cleaning chemicals and materials.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
