About the Role

This role is critical for maintaining inventory accuracy, loss prevention, and operational efficiency within a growing Wine & Spirits distribution business. You will support daily inventory control processes, track inventory movements, conduct cycle counts, and partner with various teams to ensure product availability and identify causes of product loss.

Responsibilities

  • Support daily inventory control processes across multiple distribution centers, ensuring accurate stock levels and inventory records.
  • Assist with tracking inventory transfers, stock adjustments, and inventory movement throughout the organization.
  • Conduct cycle counts, including top SKU counts, and assist in identifying and resolving inventory discrepancies.
  • Perform inventory adjustments and maintain accurate documentation of inventory changes.
  • Monitor inventory rotation and perform visual inspections to ensure proper FIFO (First In, First Out) practices.
  • Verify and maintain code date information within warehouse management systems.
  • Compile and distribute inventory and code date reports to support purchasing and inventory planning decisions.
  • Perform month-end counts of pallets, kegs, dunnage, and other inventory-related assets.
  • Partner with Operations, Warehouse, Sales, Finance, and Purchasing teams to support inventory accuracy and product availability.
  • Help identify causes of product loss, spoilage, breakage, and shrinkage while supporting corrective actions.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy to support customer service and operational objectives.
  • Support audits of inventory-related procedures, including receiving, delivery, recycling, and night-loading processes.
  • Assist with reporting inventory discrepancies and documenting findings.
  • Help generate and distribute inventory reports and key performance metrics.
  • Support training initiatives related to inventory management systems, best practices, and loss prevention.
  • Contribute ideas and recommendations for process improvements that enhance inventory accuracy and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of inventory activities, stock movements, and adjustments.
  • Assist with authorizing, documenting, and tracking damaged, expired, or destroyed inventory.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of warehouse, inventory control, or distribution experience in a high-volume environment.
  • Experience with inventory management systems and warehouse technology.
  • Experience with loss prevention, shrink reduction, barcode scanning systems, or RFID technology is a plus.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; advanced skills are a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Understanding of FIFO inventory practices and warehouse slotting principles.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with unionized employees is a plus.
  • Continuous desire to improve processes and workflows.
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment with regular standing, walking, and inventory inspections.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including occasional nights and weekends.
  • Ability to work under deadlines in a fast-paced operational environment.
