About the Role
We are seeking a Head of Marketing to lead firm-wide marketing across our real estate, private equity and infrastructure platforms. This player-coach mandate involves setting strategy and hands-on execution for leasing demand generation, investor marketing, and corporate brand building, amplified by an AI-native operating model. Success will be measured by business outcomes like beds leased and investor pipeline contribution.
Responsibilities
- Own the firm-wide marketing strategy and budget across leasing, investor and corporate fronts, allocating to measured return.
- Tie marketing output to dollar outcomes — occupancy and leasing velocity, investor pipeline contribution, cost per lease and cost per qualified meeting — with a KPI reporting cadence leadership can act on.
- Advance the attribution layer connecting spend to signed leases and qualified investor interactions.
- Own full-funnel demand for a coast-to-coast student-housing portfolio: paid search, social, display and retargeting; Internet Listing Services; out-of-home and street-level activations; organic and AI search (SEO / AEO).
- Run peak leasing season as a campaign operation — weekly leasing-velocity reads per property, reallocating spend and tactics to gap properties within the week.
- Partner with leasing operations on conversion — speed-to-lead, call-centre quality, reputation and reviews.
- Direct an agency and vendor ecosystem spanning creative, media, PR, video and activation, managing for output, cost and speed.
- Support capital raising across Forum’s fund family: fund collateral, fact sheets, investment cases and monthly performance communications — accurate, current and consistent across strategies, in English and French.
- Build the advisor and wealth-channel program: targeted campaigns, lead capture and nurture into CRM (Salesforce), and conference and event execution from target-list build through post-event attribution.
- Operate within Canadian marketing compliance — CASL and securities marketing requirements — with compliance review built into the workflow.
- Steward the Forum brand and narrative; own ForumAM.com and the firm’s digital presence.
- Ship flagship content that compounds — the annual Impact Report, research-driven thought leadership built from Forum’s own portfolio data, and executive PR and media.
- Tell the story of Forum’s technology and AI capability as a market differentiator.
- Run marketing as a system: ticketed workstreams, a daily operating cadence, and single-source dashboards.
- Build and direct agentic AI marketing capability — audience research, competitive analysis, copy, creative variation, performance analysis.
- Treat AI as a reflex: prototype in days, measure, and keep what pays for itself.
- Lead, develop and recruit a lean specialist team; set clear ownership, standards and performance expectations.
- Model the player-coach standard: strategic synthesis and hands-on shipping, every week.
Requirements
- 5+ years in marketing, including at least 2+ years in a leadership capacity leadership of demand generation with direct revenue accountability.
- The ability to both lead and execute at high pace: set the strategy in the morning and ship the campaign in the afternoon.
- Proven full-funnel performance marketing: paid digital, SEO and AI-search optimization, conversion optimization, and attribution analytics (GA4, CRM-based reporting).
- Evidence of building with AI — agentic workflows, automation, AI-assisted content systems — not just using the tools.
- Strong writing and executive communication; the ability to translate complex investment products into clear, credible messaging.
- Comfort operating in a metrics-driven cadence where results are visible weekly.
