About the Role

Leads a team of security analysts and collaborates with information security leadership to develop a comprehensive information security program. Works with information services leaders to deploy technical controls, define processes, and maintain security configurations. This is an operational role with frequent customer interaction, requiring a strong technical understanding of networking, security technologies, and Microsoft Windows security.

Responsibilities

Works with technology leadership and information security management team on strategic and tactical planning, setting priorities, coordinating and reporting program status, and issue resolution.
Staff supervision, management, and coordination of IT Security efforts and operations.
Works cooperatively across information services and Albany Med to coordinate plans and activities, including the implementation of security projects and solutions.
Provides weekly and monthly reports on information security activities, including incident response, access provisioning and termination activities, and forecasts future resource utilization and requirements.
Identifies areas where existing policies, procedures, and activities require change, or where new ones need to be developed, especially regarding future applications or technical initiatives.
Proactively defines and recommends required policies and procedures.
Participates with management in the budget development process.
Maintains staff on-call support schedule and assures support is provided as required.

Requirements

Strong technical understanding of networking principles, security technologies, and Microsoft Windows security principles.
Requires access to information considered sensitive, including HIPAA Protected Health Information and other regulated information.
Access to information must be based on a “need to know” and be the minimum necessary to properly perform assigned duties.
Use or disclosure shall not exceed the minimum amount of information needed to accomplish an intended purpose.
Reasonable efforts shall be made to ensure information is adequately protected from unauthorized access and modification.
