Responsibilities
- Manage and develop direct reports, providing coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback.
- Implement short-term strategies to achieve departmental goals.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Review tax returns for various entity types and client profiles.
- Conduct online tax research and provide solutions to complex tax issues.
- Oversee accounting work necessary for tax returns.
- Develop and nurture long-term client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor.
- Champion the implementation of innovative solutions to meet client needs.
- Review and confirm assignment objectives, scope, and work plan with clients.
- Identify assignment resource requirements and ensure appropriate resources are assigned.
- Anticipate, identify, and resolve complex assignment issues.
- Seek regular client assessment of assignment progress and performance feedback.
- Manage groups to ensure profitability in the short and long term.
- Support the partner team in identifying and promoting new delivery capabilities.
- Assist in the development and planning of practice unit strategy, objectives, and budgets.
- Identify and develop new initiatives to increase retention, meet resourcing needs, utilization, and people development.
- Share and transfer knowledge and skills to the team.
- Engage in ongoing personal development.
- Work and support tax teams in the Dallas, Irvine, Los Angeles, and New York City areas.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Active CPA or EA license required.
- Minimum of 5 years of U.S. tax consulting/compliance experience in public accounting.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Experience with a wide variety of entity types.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Strong project management and leadership skills, including the ability to successfully coach and mentor talented people.
- Technical proficiency in tax software applications.
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in the delivery of quality client service.
- Masters in Taxation (Preferred)
- Experience with Entertainment industry clients (Preferred)

Salary/Compensations
- Colorado: $109,100 - $148,500
- Washington, Illinois, New York, Southern California: $114,000 - $163,400
- Northern California: $125,400 - $170,800
