About the Role
As an SAP Basis Senior Manager on SAP transformation projects, you will define and own the end-to-end SAP platform strategy across complex, multi-workstream transformation programs, ensuring architectural coherence from design through hypercare and handover. You will lead enterprise-scale SAP landscape architecture decisions, set platform engineering standards and governance frameworks, and own the commercial and delivery relationship for Basis platform scope.
Responsibilities
- Define and own the end-to-end SAP platform strategy across complex, multi-workstream transformation programs — spanning S/4HANA Greenfield, Brownfield conversion, BTP/cloud extension, and AMS steady state — ensuring architectural coherence from design through hypercare and handover.
- Lead enterprise-scale SAP landscape architecture decisions — including system consolidation, multi-tier HA/DR topology, SAP RISE vs. private cloud vs. hybrid positioning, Azure infrastructure right-sizing (Mv3), and network/security perimeter design.
- Set platform engineering standards and governance frameworks — establishing Basis delivery methodology, tooling standards (Solution Manager, Focused Run, CCMS), transport governance policy, and incident/change management operating models across programs and accounts.
- Own the commercial and delivery relationship for Basis platform scope on platform roadmaps, change order scoping, SLA negotiation, and continuous service improvement.
- Represent the platform perspective in program governance — participating in steering committees, executive status reviews, and risk/issue forums; translating platform complexity into strategic clarity for senior client and internal leadership.
Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years experience in SAP Basis, with a minimum of three enterprise-scale S/4HANA transformation programs delivered in a Senior Platform leadership role.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience/expertise across the full SAP Basis domain — HANA architecture, HA/DR, security/compliance, transport governance, monitoring operations, and cloud infrastructure — with the ability to set standards rather than follow them.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience/proven track record managing complex, multi-geography SAP landscapes in both transformation and AMS contexts, including RISE engagements and hybrid cloud architectures.
- Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience owning client relationships at CIO/IT Director level — including SLA accountability, commercial discussions, and strategic platform advisory.
- Experience leading and developing teams of 20+ Basis professionals across multiple concurrent engagements.
- Strong executive communication and influencing skills — able to drive alignment across client leadership, Accenture delivery leadership, and SAP account teams.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent (12 years) work experience (If an, Associate’s Degree with 6 years of work experience)
