About the Role
The Senior Designer is an individual contributor responsible for taking engineering input to create quality, on-time, world-class drawings.
Responsibilities
- Ability to create/maintain mechanical models and drawings for large Power Generation Equipment.
- Ability to create/maintain bill of materials.
- Follow direction from engineers and Senior Designers to complete designs, including retrieving design input, executing details per standard GE practice, and issuing drawings, models, and Bill of Materials per documented GE processes.
- Help define/maintain and meet scheduled dates for design related activities, and provide early communication to alert management of issues.
- Understand GD&T principles and GE drawing standards and capable to create high quality detailed drawings with SIM TO products/features.
- Create detailed markups, create new drawings and have a full understanding of detailing processes/standards.
- Understanding of part attributes and their functionality.
- Proficient in PLM and able to mentor others in use of PLM.
Requirements
- Technical Degree / Certification or relevant working experience.
- Min. 1 yr. experience in design/drafting or component design.
- Experience in mechanical design.
- Working knowledge of various agency certifications, codes & standards.
- Working knowledge of Power Generation mechanical Equipment.
- Knowledge of drafting standards.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility in handling a diverse and challenging workload.
- Highly motivated & self-directing/self-starter.
- Quality, Customer satisfaction, schedule and cost mindset.

- 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas (geographic differential)
