About the Role
The Hagedorn Little Village School seeks a Certified School Psychologist for a 10-month, in-person position conducting evaluations for children aged 2 to 12 with developmental disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Conduct social history interviews and classroom observations
- Conduct cognitive and educational evaluations
- Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments in community pre-schools
- Complete Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
- Conduct parent training sessions (optional)
- Provide families with information regarding the CPSE process and evaluations
- Participate in school district meetings and present evaluations to the Committee on Preschool Special Education
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Psychology
- Certification as a School Psychologist
- Passionate about working with children and families
- Empathetic and considerate of others
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent time management/organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and meet compliance deadlines
- Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary team members
- Experience with school districts or CPSE procedures is a plus
- Bilingual is a plus
- Fingerprinting and a New York State criminal background check are mandatory
