About the Role
The Assertive Community Engagement & Success (ACES) program seeks a community engagement and outreach specialist to build and maintain strategic relationships with community stakeholders, increasing program awareness. ACES serves young men ages 16-24 in East Harlem or the South Bronx who are striving to overcome challenging environments and system involvement to achieve success.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain partnerships with community-based organizations, schools, and local agencies.
- Serve as the program's representative at community board meetings, resource fairs, and public events.
- Build trust with community members and stakeholders to strengthen referral pipelines.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute community engagement and outreach initiatives to increase ACES program awareness and integration.
- Maintain communication with staff regarding outreach efforts, event participation, and community engagement updates.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation in databases and trackers.
- Maintain ongoing communication with partners.
- Participate in professional development training.
- Support transportation and field-based participation in program activities.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in community outreach, engagement, or youth services.
- Strong experience and knowledge of local community resources and stakeholder landscape.
- Excellent communication, public speaking, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Valid driver's license required for travel and participation in field activities.
