About the Role

The Attended Donation Center (ADC) Assistant Manager supports the ADC Manager in leading Goodwill Central Texas’ network of Attended Donation Centers. This role is responsible for creating a consistent, welcoming, and distinct Goodwill experience for every donor and shopper while ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operations. The position oversees five ADCs and will be involved in evaluating, opening, and stabilizing future locations. This is a hands-on, multi-site leadership role focused on developing teams, ensuring staffing and operating standards, improving donation acquisition and retail performance, and representing Goodwill Central Texas' mission.

Responsibilities

  • Support the ADC Manager in providing leadership and operational oversight for all Attended Donation Center locations, ensuring consistent execution of standards across donation acquisition, retail operations, safety, staffing, customer service, and facility appearance.
  • Create an exceptional donor and customer experience that is welcoming, efficient, and memorable, while building a service culture that positively represents Goodwill Central Texas and its mission.
  • Assist in recruiting, developing, and leading a high-performing team across multiple locations, ensuring reliable staffing and leadership coverage through effective hiring, scheduling, training, coaching, and performance management.
  • Maintain a strong field presence across ADC locations, regularly observing operations, coaching team members, resolving barriers, and ensuring consistent execution of operating standards.
  • Establish accountability for daily operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, POS operations, donation processing, merchandising, housekeeping, safety, and reporting.
  • Monitor donation volume, donor traffic, sales, productivity, staffing, and other key performance measures; identify trends and implement actions to improve operational and financial performance.
  • Grow donation acquisition by understanding the communities surrounding each ADC and identifying opportunities to improve donor convenience, engagement, and awareness.
  • Oversee retail performance and presentation, including merchandise selection, pricing, inventory flow, merchandising, and sales, while ensuring donated goods are efficiently processed and transferred through the Goodwill supply chain.
  • Maintain clean, organized, safe, and welcoming locations that consistently represent the standards and brand of Goodwill Central Texas.
  • Partner effectively with Logistics, Retail, Facilities, Human Resources, Safety, Marketing, and other teams to resolve operational needs and continuously improve the ADC program.
  • Support the planning, opening, and stabilization of future ADC locations while identifying opportunities to standardize and scale the operating model as the program grows.
  • Take the lead on all ADC operations in the absence of the ADC Manager.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of leadership experience in a multi-site retail, hospitality, service, donation, nonprofit, or similar customer-facing operation.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop teams while maintaining consistent standards across multiple locations.
