About the Role
Seeking a detail-oriented professional with a strong law enforcement background to bridge the gap between the agency and key criminal justice agencies. This role implements a focused-deterrence strategy to reduce firearm re-offending among the juvenile population by building and growing positive, trusting relationships with local law enforcement, courts, and other stakeholders. This is not a law enforcement role; the focus is on educating partners, fostering collaboration, and supporting organizational goals.
Responsibilities
- Build strong ties with police departments, sheriff offices, the judiciary, and other stakeholders.
- Deliver focused deterrence training to agency staff and various community leaders including law enforcement and judicial partners.
- Meet regularly with community leaders and public safety officials.
- Explain the program to law enforcement and answer their questions.
- Plan and lead outreach events and joint meetings.
- Help solve communication problems between the team and outside agencies.
Requirements
- Proven work experience in law enforcement, parole, probation, or the court system.
- Minimum of 3 years of active law enforcement, or criminal justice experience.
- Responses provided to qualifying questions must be verifiable on your State of Florida Candidate Profile.
- Candidate profiles must be completed entirely, including employer addresses, supervisor names, and supervisor telephone numbers.
- All prospective candidates will be subject to a sex offender check, criminal background check (state, local, and national) and pre-employment drug screening for direct care positions.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
- If initially hired with an out-of-state license, the Florida resident must obtain a valid driver’s license within 30 days of hire.
- Licenses that have Corrected Lenses Restrictions are acceptable, provided the driver’s wear corrective lenses while operating the vehicle.
- Positions that include the transportation of youth require a valid driver’s license and a three-year acceptable driving record.
- Candidates claiming Veterans’ Preference must attach supporting documentation with each submission that includes character of service (e.g., DD Form 214 Member Copy #4) along with any other documentation as required by Rule 55A-7, Florida Administrative Code.

- High ethical standards with the ability to handle sensitive, confidential information with discretion.
- Strong computer skills and comfort with Microsoft Office Suite including creating PowerPoint presentations.

Experience Level

Salary/Compensations
- Approximately $94,000 per year (if family health insurance elected)
- Approximately $108,000 per year (if individual-only coverage elected)
- Approximately $120,000 per year (if insurance is waived)
- Hourly rate approximately $45/hour (if family health insurance elected)
- Hourly rate approximately $52/hour (if individual-only coverage elected)
- Hourly rate approximately $58/hour (if insurance is waived)
