About the Role
The AVP, Risk Management will be a key member of the First American Finance team, playing a critical role in strengthening and enhancing the organization's risk management framework. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to communicate complex risk and control concepts clearly and actionably.
Responsibilities
- Support the administration and enhancement of vendor management processes, including completing vendor risk assessments and contract reviews.
- Act as the primary lead for the internal issue management program and complaints reporting.
- Assist with ongoing monitoring activities.
- Support the execution of risk assessments across the organization.
- Assist in the maturation and ongoing maintenance of the enterprise risk and control framework, including Risk and Control Registers.
- Conduct policy reviews and compliance assessments.
- Maintain and enhance centralized risk management documentation and governance materials.
- Develop and deliver risk management training and awareness programs.
- Promote a strong culture of risk awareness, accountability, and effective internal controls.
- Research emerging regulatory developments and evaluate potential impacts to the business.
- Understand and communicate industry-specific regulations and requirements, including OCC Heightened Standards.
- Participate in special projects, strategic initiatives, and other risk management activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Experience in risk management, audit, finance, or accounting preferred.
- Experience with regulatory requirements of the financial industry (e.g., Heightened Standards) is a plus.
- Experience with tools and applications such as Salesforce and Archer is a plus.
