About the Role

The Laboratory Technician performs, interprets, troubleshoots, and documents laboratory procedures in a production environment, ensuring compliance with SOPs, cGMP, and regulatory standards. This role involves analytical testing, maintaining bacterial clones, reagents, equipment, and supporting documentation to ensure uninterrupted production and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Perform laboratory procedures, analytical testing, and production support activities in accordance with SOPs, cGMP requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Interpret test results and troubleshoot routine laboratory and process-related issues.
  • Conduct procedures using manual and automated laboratory methods and equipment.
  • Maintain bacterial clones and associated biological materials required for manufacturing operations.
  • Prepare, maintain, and manage laboratory reagents and consumables.
  • Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and verification of laboratory and production equipment.
  • Ensure laboratory workspaces, equipment, and materials are maintained in a clean, organized, and compliant state.
  • Accurately document test results, procedures, observations, and production data in accordance with quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with the preparation of reports, summaries, protocols, and technical documentation as required.
  • Identify and communicate equipment, process, or quality issues to supervisors and team members.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization efforts.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and other cross-functional teams to meet production goals.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 1-3 years of related experience preferred
  • Experience with pipets and DNA is preferred
  • Coursework in biotechnology, microbiology, biology, chemistry, laboratory sciences, manufacturing, or related fields is preferred.
  • Laboratory, manufacturing, biotechnology, or regulated industry experience is a plus.

Skills

  • Ability to follow detailed procedures, SOPs, and documentation requirements.
  • Basic understanding of laboratory techniques and biological materials handling.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and compliance.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Basic computer proficiency and data-entry skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently on routine assignments while contributing effectively as a team member.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, cGMP compliance, and continuous improvement.
