About the Role
Responsible for providing comprehensive, high-quality nutrition care to patients, with a primary focus on assessing and caring for malnourished patients or those at risk. Staff will serve as role models by practicing exemplary behaviors.
Responsibilities
- Maintain ethics standards within professional and hospital guidelines.
- Design and implement individualized nutrition care plans for hospitalized and ambulatory patients across the life span, considering cultural and religious diversity.
- Prioritize patient caseload based on assigned level of risk.
- Collaborate daily with interdisciplinary care teams on nutrition care plan development within the context of medical management.
- Assist with orientation and training of new level 1 dietitians and nutrition assistants.
- Provide cross-coverage of RD assignments as needed.
- Participate in weekend & holiday clinical nutrition coverage.
- Complete productivity data.
- Participate in the clinical team by providing input to team decisions, facilitating open communication, and attending all team meetings.
- Participate in service-specific graduate medical education and other educational opportunities (after 1 year).
- Assist with data collection and projects as requested.
- Practice within the ADA scope of practice.
Requirements
- Registered Dietitian as delineated by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
- Maintenance of continuing education requirements for dietetic registration.
- Access to information is based on a “need to know” and is the minimum necessary to properly perform assigned duties.
- Use or disclosure shall not exceed the minimum amount of information needed to accomplish an intended purpose.
- Reasonable efforts shall be made to ensure that information is adequately protected from unauthorized access and modification.
