About the Role
Solar One's Green Workforce program trains students in hard skills for the clean energy sector. This role involves delivering workforce development courses focused on energy efficiency, renewables, construction, and building trades through hands-on, interactive formats. The Instructor will initially co-teach and eventually lead programs for adults, reporting to the Manager of Green Workforce Training.
Responsibilities
- Deliver Solar One training programs including green construction, green building operations and maintenance, solar PV installation, and HVAC maintenance and repair.
- Serve as the primary instructor for offsite programming, including environmental workshops and community solar workforce development programs.
- Track and record classroom activities, attendance, grades, and student feedback in Salesforce.
- Adapt to a changing schedule, including potentially serving as a substitute instructor.
Requirements
- At least three years of field and/or teaching experience in green construction, green building operations and maintenance, solar PV installation, or HVAC maintenance and repair.
- Ability to learn new curriculum independently and conduct ongoing research in subject matter areas.
- Strong background and content knowledge in the broader clean energy sector with at least eight years of experience in construction basics, energy efficiency building maintenance, multifamily residential and commercial energy auditing, electrical retrofitting, or solar PV.
- Aptitude to continually learn new material and independently upskill to stay current with technological trends and training methodology.
- Interest and passion in teaching about sustainability, energy efficiency, and renewable technologies to underserved communities.
- Ability to work independently and problem-solve in an unsupervised setting.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite products.
- Working knowledge of or ability to learn Salesforce for tracking student data.
- Demonstrated success in communicating with internal and external stakeholders to build and maintain strong partnerships.
- Must be a team player who works well in a collaborative environment.

Salary/Compensations
- $75,000-95,000 per year
