About the Role
Provide support to education faculty in areas of student learning and offer assistance within both the educational and residential setting with student resident supervision and safety.
Responsibilities
- Provide educational assistance to clients within a classroom setting.
- Provide client supervision and mentorship.
- Ensure student resident safety and collaborate with co-workers to maintain a positive, respectful, clean, and safe environment.
- Maintain professional boundaries with student residents.
- Uphold privacy and confidentiality per Nexus policies.
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.
- Understand and support the Nexus philosophy and treatment modalities.
Requirements
- Minimum 21 years of age.
- Must be able to assist staff in physical and non-physical interventions with residents.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100+ pounds with assistance.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time (2-4 hours).
- Must be able to twist, bend and stretch in a manner conducive to the execution of daily activities within a school.
- Must be able to pass a DHS background screening.
- Must successfully participate and complete a Handle with Care exam and training.
- Ability to build strong relationships with diverse individuals or communities and understand their unique needs and challenges.
- Open to meeting the cultural needs of individuals or communities, considering factors such as language, traditions, and values.
