About the Role
As a Research & Development Technician I, you will assist the Research Scientist from conceptual stages through product life cycles and collaborate with production and maintenance to align duties with company goals and values.
Responsibilities
- Familiarize with all Pilot Plant equipment and operations, including troubleshooting and repairs.
- Collaborate with Research staff to set up, operate, and evaluate experiments.
- Operate all equipment during runs and record observations.
- Request clarification or direction from Research Staff when needed.
- Adhere to good manufacturing and sanitation practices.
- Maintain proper housekeeping and safe work practices in the Pilot Plant.
- Gain familiarity with and evaluate special equipment, techniques, or analysis.
- Recommend approaches or ideas to the Research Staff for projects.
- Develop familiarity with various analytical equipment and techniques, and perform sample analysis or bench tasks.
- Work with Cheese Plant personnel when new products or equipment are introduced.
- Order and receive all Pilot Plant supplies, parts, and materials, following company procedures and authorization for purchases.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- 1+ years of experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of Cheese Processes is preferred.
- Knowledge of Food Safety/GOP is preferred.
- Understanding of mechanical and logic related usage of industrial equipment is preferred.
