About the Role
As our Senior Designer, you will set the standard for Enthuse's product design, from user experience to visual aesthetics. You will lead a small design team and collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Marketing to deliver beautiful, accessible, and commercially effective experiences. You will be responsible for our design philosophy, considering the evolution of components, tokens, and patterns in the context of Generative AI.
Responsibilities
- Own the design craft across the product, including product design flows, interaction patterns, and visual language for all user touchpoints.
- Lead and grow a small team, managing the Product Designer and establishing standards for design critique, shipping, and user feedback.
- Own and evolve the design philosophy through components, tokens, and documentation, providing insights on system leverage and the impact of AI-generated interfaces.
- Partner closely with Engineering to ensure design implementation aligns with the modern web stack, including web components, JS frameworks, and Tailwind.
- Utilize Gen AI as a collaborator for exploration, prototyping, visual iteration, and copy generation, demonstrating practical application while maintaining human taste.
- Champion accessibility, performance, and inclusive design to ensure a frictionless experience for all users across all devices.
- Apply commercial judgment to design decisions, balancing craft, speed, and business outcomes.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a Product, Digital, or UX/UI Designer, preferably in a fast-paced product environment shipping at scale.
- Proven experience working with design systems, with the ability to discuss their pros, cons, failure modes, and successes, particularly in relation to AI's impact.
- Demonstrated AI-native practice with specific examples of using Gen AI tools in discovery, prototyping, visual exploration, or production.
- Strong portfolio showcasing end-to-end product thinking, including research, interaction design, visual craft, and the ability to justify design decisions.
- Mentoring experience (formal or informal) and the people skills to develop a direct report and elevate a cross-functional team.
- Ability to clearly communicate design rationale to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Self-starter attitude with the ability to work autonomously, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a small team startup environment.
