About the Role

Hudson Valley Community College is seeking a Technical Assistant for the Chief Diversity Office to support event planning, program initiatives, and administrative functions. This role is crucial for maintaining the office's operations and enhancing its presence.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with the planning of community and campus events and quantifies data collected from workshops.
  • May provide oversight of ongoing program initiatives for the Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging.
  • Maintains office functions including reception, ordering and inventory of office supplies, processing mail, and assisting with agenda preparation.
  • Coordinates events and appointments, and maintains the administrative calendar for the Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging.
  • Updates, reviews, and maintains the Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging social media presence and website.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • One (1) or more years of paid work experience in an administrative office setting.
  • Proficiency with office software, preferably Microsoft Office.
  • Experience working with underserved populations.
  • Knowledge of organizing events around social issues.
  • Skilled communicator, both orally and in written form.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to handle high level internal and public contact.
  • High degree of organizational skill and attention to detail.
  • Ability to cope with simultaneous and competing work demands.
