About the Role
Fitch Ratings is seeking a senior credit analyst with 10+ years of solid corporate credit rating experience in the industrials and transportation sectors. The primary responsibilities of the successful candidate will be to focus on the analysis, execution and rating of I&T transactions in the US and Canada. This role offers the ability to shape the strategic course for the I&T team, take a leadership role analyzing cutting-edge transactions, and be part of a growing credit team in the ever-evolving infrastructure space.
Responsibilities
- Work on leading ratings analysis, execution and research on new and existing North American transactions.
- Evaluate innovative credit structures and participate in global criteria development.
- Identify relevant trends, assess their credit impact and highlight these trends in updated industry and market focused reports/presentations.
- Gather and analyze quantitative and qualitative data and legal documents for the purpose of producing ratings, publishing credit reports, and contributing to special research reports.
- Maintain a strong external network and profile that continues to build Fitch's reputation for analytical excellence by representing Fitch in a compelling and persuasive manner at industry conferences, webinars, issuer meetings/site visits and through media communication.
- Develop and grow strong relationships with the other analytical groups at Fitch to ensure analytical consistency and efficient execution of transactions that involve multiple groups.
- Mentor junior members of the I&T team.
Requirements
- 10+ years of solid North American corporate related experience in I&T including development of credit or underwriting approach.
- Proven credit skills gained in a bank credit department, a rating agency, buy side credit department, etc.
- Solid writing and verbal communication skills.
- An open mind to think expansively about the opportunity and risk in the evolving infrastructure landscape.
- Excellent modelling skills and thorough familiarity with spreadsheet-based financial models.
- Ability to read and fully comprehend complex structures and to ask probing questions to issuers and their advisers.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and display a strong degree of flexibility to take on additional responsibilities, as required.

- Professional background in capital markets and/or credit analysis
- Experience in interpreting complex legal documents such as bank agreements and bond indentures
- Strong pattern of leadership and the ability to proactively and successfully interact with various stakeholders, both within and outside of the organization
- CFA
- Master’s degree in Finance, Business or Public Administration
