About the Role

The Service Employee is responsible for maintaining and fueling all school buses, activity buses, and commercial buses in coordination with First Student's Maintenance Department. This role involves dispensing fuel, checking oil, maintaining accurate records, stocking supplies, and ensuring the safe operation of buses through coordinated flow. Additionally, the Service Employee performs light maintenance on buildings and grounds as needed.

Responsibilities

Opens the lot gates and checks bus parking areas to ensure timely dispatch.
Re-positions buses that may obstruct traffic in the yard.
Maintains accurate records, including Bulk Fuel Receiving Report, Fuel Variance Report, Closing Month-end Report, and Meter Calibration Report.
Notifies the Location Manager when fuel delivery is required and ensures accurate stick readings before and after delivery.
Checks and fills essential fluids such as oil, antifreeze, power steering, transmission fluid, brake fluid, and windshield washer fluid.
Checks and maintains belts on buses being fueled.
Performs light interior and exterior maintenance on buses.
Completes other management requests or directives as assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Knowledge of bus maintenance.
Ability to learn maintenance skills.
Subject to DOT drug testing and physical.
English proficiency is required for training, safety communications, company policies, employment documents, and job-related communications.
