About the Role

The Social Work Supervisor assesses residents' mental and emotional functioning, administers necessary treatment services, and provides clinical supervision to Case Managers and the Housing Specialist. This role also involves direct treatment services and issuing referrals as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical supervision of Case Managers and Housing Specialist.
• Offer administrative and group supervision, chair case conferences, and ensure service plan implementation.
• Coordinate staff training, meetings, and supervision to foster professional development.
• Attend consortium meetings with DHS and other entities to discuss service delivery issues.
• Evaluate residents' mental health status upon admission, coordinate mental health/psychiatric care, and provide referrals and brief psychotherapy.
• Develop and facilitate group meetings.
• Monitor resident records for compliance and best practices.
• Function independently during facility coverage, including crisis management per agency procedures.
• Attend monthly staff meetings and case conferences.
• Regularly assess the safety and well-being of all clients.
• Participate in weekly individual and group supervision with the Director.
• Engage in training seminars to enhance clinical skills.
• Assist with reports and program evaluation.
• Support the overlapping needs of children and residents.
• Review progress notes and service plans, ensuring compliance with DHS reporting requirements.
• Monitor client compliance and report incidents to the supervisor.
• Develop strategies for engaging individuals with trauma histories.
• Ensure compliance with URI standards, program policies, and procedures, promoting quality care for residents.
• Communicate with ACS and outside service providers as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director.

Requirements

• Five years of experience working with homeless individuals and their dependent children.
• Demonstrated sensitivity and experience with or knowledge of homeless families, including LGBTQ+ individuals, the elderly, and those with substance abuse or mental health issues.
• Familiarity with DHS regulations and DHS Cares Reporting.
• Experience with supportive group facilitation.
• Training and experience in assessing vocational and educational needs and aptitudes of clients.
• Thorough familiarity and success with engaging clients in obtaining Public Assistance, Medicaid, and other benefits.
