About the Role
This role involves improving the standard of private sector housing stock in the borough, proactively identifying and issuing licenses for residential accommodation, and improving poor living conditions. You will act as an Authorised Officer to enforce statutory provisions.
Responsibilities
- Improve the standard of the private sector housing stock in the borough.
- Proactively identify and issue licenses for residential accommodation.
- Improve poor living conditions.
- Enforce statutory provisions as an Authorised Officer.
Requirements
- Experience in investigating and enforcing housing standards in the private rented sector.
- Experience delivering and enforcing HMO and selective licensing schemes in line with local policy and national housing legislation.
- Hold a HHSRS qualification.
- Detailed knowledge of housing legislation, property construction, building regulations, planning requirements, disrepair, property maintenance, landlord and tenant rights, and the effects of housing conditions on health.
- Must complete the application fully.
- Supporting statement must cover how you meet each of the person specification criteria listed.
- Subject to a basic DBS check.
