About the Role
Stantec is seeking on-call Paleontological Technicians for project-specific work, assisting with construction monitoring, field surveys, fossil collection, and data collection. Flexibility is essential due to changing schedules and staffing needs.
Responsibilities
- Perform detailed and accurate field data collection and daily progress reports using Stantec’s proprietary system.
- Document project sites and fossil localities with an emphasis on stratigraphic information.
- Communicate responsively with Stantec supervisors and follow instructions effectively.
- Assist with drafting portions of reports as needed.
- Adhere to ethical business practices, professional standards, laws, regulations, and best practices in mitigation paleontology.
- Maintain professionalism with colleagues and clients at all times.
- Strictly comply with Stantec’s and project-mandated safety procedures.

- Must be available for on-call, project-specific work.
- Must be able to respond quickly to changing schedules and staffing needs.
- Must adhere to ethical business practices, professional standards, laws and regulations, and best practices in mitigation paleontology.

Salary/Compensations
- Pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required.
- Final compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
- Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
