About the Role

This position plays a key role in shaping the future of the electric grid by managing complex electric utility infrastructure projects delivered by EPC partners and consultants. You will be the primary technical and project management authority throughout the project lifecycle, guiding the planning and delivery of major transmission and substation capital projects involving advanced technologies like GIS, synchronous condensers, STATCOM systems, and FACTS.

Responsibilities

  • Lead utility-side engineering management of large-scale EPC-delivered electrical infrastructure projects from conceptual development through commissioning and turnover.
  • Coordinate engineering and technical activities among EPC contractors, Owner’s Engineers, equipment suppliers, utility operations personnel, and internal stakeholders.
  • Lead and coordinate the engineering and technical review of EPC contractor deliverables, including engineering packages, procurement plans, construction schedules, testing procedures, and commissioning plans.
  • Lead the development of technical scopes of work, specifications, and procurement documentation for engineering and construction services.
  • Develop bid evaluation criteria and participate in contractor selection and recommendation processes.
  • Coordinate across engineering, operations, protection and controls, planning, procurement, legal, environmental, and regulatory teams.

Requirements

  • Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Texas
  • Eight or more years of post-Bachelors engineering experience relating to the area of engineering specialization required to perform the job, including providing technical leadership in engineering.
