About the Role

Schneider Electric is seeking a Project Engineer specializing in Building Automation System (BAS) to join our team in Sylvester, GA. This role is within our Digital Buildings organization and focuses on project coordination, safety, software checkout, commissioning, and troubleshooting. You will ensure daily site activities for projects are completed and have the opportunity to develop technical and leadership skills while advancing your personal and company brand.

Responsibilities

Ensure all design engineer activity is aligned with latest conformed construction documents prior to installation.
Modify and update design drawings and maintain red line documents.
Collaborate with project manager and procurement personnel on purchasing activity and monitor budget risks.
Ensure materials are delivered to site or subcontractors for installation.
Validate hardware and project installation meet design requirements.
Diagnose communication problems, troubleshoot, and track software and hardware issues.
Participate in field quality control or safety audits and review analysis and results.
Coordinate with on-site contractors for equipment installation based on shop drawings.
Act as primary point of contact for subcontractors during the installation phase.
Coordinate and address issues during the installation phase independently.
Collaborate with the Project Manager to coordinate projects through the installation phase and provide feedback for manpower requirements.
Contribute to a complete operation to service turnover process.
Oversee overall system functionality/performance.
Setup outside ISP connections and remote connectivity to customer sites.
Re-commission devices, equipment, and software as required.
Assist the PM in material procurement.
Ensure installation tracking sheets are updated regularly.
Prepare customer-training manuals and provide customized training.

Requirements

4+ years of experience as a BAS Technician with related industry knowledge in BAS programming.
Demonstrated communication skills for interfacing directly with customers and other trades.
Experience with HVAC and security installations.
Proficiency in all types of building systems and application of our technology.
Proven experience coordinating project team activities on site, including coordination with other trades, commissioning agents, and customers.
Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship, both currently and moving forward.
