About the Role
As Head of Health, Safety & Security, you will lead the strategic development and continual improvement of the Health, Safety and Security agenda across IAG Cargo's London operation. You will be responsible for protecting our people, customers, assets and operations by ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, driving a strong safety and security culture and embedding world-class risk management practices across the Heathrow campus. This role is pivotal in supporting operational excellence whilst ensuring the business remains compliant, resilient and prepared for future challenges.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Health, Safety & Security strategy across IAG Cargo's London operation.
- Drive a strong safety and security culture, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
- Act as the operational lead for Health, Safety & Security risk management, assurance and continuous improvement.
- Lead investigations into significant incidents, security breaches and operational events, ensuring lessons learned are embedded across the operation.
- Oversee the cargo security screening programme, ensuring compliance, operational effectiveness and future readiness.
- Lead the evaluation and implementation of new security screening technologies, methods and processes.
- Manage the performance and governance of security screening providers and other security-related suppliers.
- Build strong relationships with regulators, Heathrow Airport, Border Force and key operational partners.
- Support business continuity, crisis management and operational resilience activities.
- Provide expert guidance and challenge to operational leaders, ensuring safety and security are embedded within operational decision making.
- Develop meaningful performance measures and use data and insight to drive improvement.
- Lead Health, Safety & Security training and engagement programmes across the operation.
- Liaise with our operational staff/ health and health representatives to lead local health and safety meetings.
Requirements
- Significant experience in a Health, Safety and/or Security leadership role within a regulated operational environment.
- Experience managing regulatory compliance, audits and investigations.
- Experience leading operational risk management and assurance activities.
- Experience managing third-party service providers.
- Experience of aviation security and cargo screening operations, including the implementation of new screening technologies (desirable).
