About the Role
As an On Street Maintenance Operative in the Cycle Hire team, you will help keep London's cycle hire scheme safe, clean, and available for the communities that rely on it. Your work will support customers across the city while ensuring cycle hire stations and bicycles remain operational and ready to use. You will play a hands-on role in creating impactful solutions that keep people moving, contributing positively to communities and helping to impact a better future.
Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain cycle hire docking stations to agreed standards.
- Use vehicles, equipment, tools, and cleaning materials safely and effectively.
- Complete hub duties, including moving and redistributing bicycles across key locations.
- Perform minor bicycle maintenance and repairs on street.
- Collect abandoned and damaged bicycles as directed by the Control Room.
- Provide excellent customer service and engage positively with members of the public.
Requirements
- Strong communication and people skills with enjoyment of working with customers.
- Knowledge of health and safety requirements in an operational environment.
- Experience using tools, equipment, or cleaning materials safely and effectively.
- Genuine interest in cycling and experience riding or working with bicycles.
- Flexibility, resilience, and comfort working outdoors in different weather conditions.
- Must pass a Basic DBS check.
- Must complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire.

- Alternating weekly shifts: 7am to 3.30pm and 11am to 7.30pm

- £30,784 pro rata
